His fund development career began in Kansas City, Kansas. After working as a program manager in Kansas City, Onuzuruike relocated to Kansas City, Missouri in 1999. Soon thereafter, he took on numerous rewarding and challenging assignments in both higher education and nonprofit organizations.
In addition to his new-found passion — in the span of 24 years — Onuzuruike has helped raised over $697 million in public and private funding for higher education and other not-for-profit organizations. He has an earned MPA degree from Park Graduate School of Public Affairs in Parkville, Missouri; an undergraduate degree in Business Management and Finance from State University of New York – College at Old Westbury, New York; a graduate Certificate in Fund Raising Management from Henry Bloch School of Business and Public Administration at the University of Missouri – Kansas City; and professional certification as a Gift Planner. An avid music producer and published songwriter, he is the author of three Screenplays: The Administrator: Based on a True Story, The Administrator: Roll or Fold, and The Administrator: The Trilogy. His debut nonfiction, The Administrator: A Startling True Story of Politics and Deception, like the Screenplays, was inspired by a never-before-fathom career downward spiral he experienced in late 2014. Onuzuruike’s goal is to depict culturally relevant settings while presenting the audience-friendly, The Administrator Series into a family feature film script.
